Saudi Arabia Ambassador to Pakistan Abdullah Al-Zahrani on Thursday said Pakistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) are working closely to achieve peace in the region. He expressed these view during a meeting with Pakistan-KSA Friendship group here at the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services (PIPS).
“Relation between Pakistan and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is heart to heart which needs no words for expression,” he said.
The ambassador said that Pakistan and KSA are enjoying cordial relations since the inception of Pakistan and the relations have transformed into strong strategic relations. The convener of the Friendship group Senator Sehar Kamran while expressing gratitude for the ambassador’s positive role in strengthening relations and enhancing people-to-people contact between the two countries said that KSA has always supported Pakistan on issues of vital importance.
She said that the friendship group is focusing to strengthen inter-parliamentary relations; promote people-to-people contact by utilizing different avenues for interaction and increased cooperation in the field of education and culture. Senator Lt. General (retd) Abdul Qayyum on the occasion said that Saudi Arabia, being the strongest country in the region, has an important role in bringing peace to middle-east.
The participants of the meeting emphasized for enhanced bilateral cooperation in the field of trade, commerce and technology besides recognizing the services of Pakistani diaspora that is playing a vital role in development of the kingdom. Among others, the meeting was attended by Senators Maulana Tanveer-ul-Haq Thanvi, Mohsin Aziz, Kalsoom Perveen, Saleh Shah, Hilal-ur-Rehman along besides Director General Middle East, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abbas Sarwar Qureshi.
