9th April, 2016: On the occasion of the second Constitutional day being celebrated from April 9 to 12th, Senator Sehar Kamran (TI) said today we must remember the unsung heroes and the custodians of constitution who laid great sacrifices for the current constitution of Pakistan which was passed on 10th April, 1973. She said this day is dedicated to those courageous people who stood for the honour and sanctity of the Constitution of Pakistan and did not bow down to the pressure, torture and dictatorial regimes which were focused on undermining the Constitution.
Senator Kamran paid great tribute to Chairman PPP and the founder of 1973’s Constitution, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and said ZAB will always be remembered in golden words whenever the history of Pakistan will be written.
Senator Sehar Kamran also paid accolades to Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani for taking this initiative of celebrating “Constitution Day”. She said the Constitution of 1973 provides a perfect balance of coexistence between federation and provinces and if we follow the Constitution in its true essence, we can overcome the existing hurdles faced by the nation.
