Senator Sehar Kamran said the gory incident taking place in the Islamabad Capital Territory exposes outreach of the state security of a country which has not only signed but ratified the International United Nations Convention on the Rights of Child. She said presenting such a case before this gathering of lawmakers of the House of Federation, Senate of this country shakes my conscience.
Senator Kamran said this matter cannot be ignored as it the practice of keeping minor children as servants is prevalent in our society and the government must take concrete steps to ensure that we get rid of this evil.
Senator Sehar Kamran emphasized that the perpetrators of this heinous act must be punished and legislation be adopted against the practice of using minor children as servants in the household. We need to take serious note of as to the worth of the legislation we make so hard to pass through this House, she added.
