5th February, 2017: Senator Sehar Kamran (TI), on the occasion of Kashmir solidarity day said the entire nation expresses solidarity with our Kashmiri brother and sisters. She said today, we reaffirm and reiterate our commitment to the cause of Kashmir and to the people who have continued to suffer at the hands of the Indian forces.
Senator Kamran said Indian forces have committed new records of atrocities towards Kashmiris in the Valley of Kashmir. She said the people of Pakistan have always extended their diplomatic and moral support to the cause of Kashmir and will continue to do so until Kashmir achieves independence from the clutches of Indian occupation.
Senator Sehar Kamran said the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) has always been a staunch supporter of the rights of people of Kashmir. She said the founder of the PPP, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Shaheed, was the one who internationalised the issue of Kashmir through effective diplomacy. It was he who in 1974 declared February 5 the “Kashmir Day”. She said PPP’s legacy is its commitment to the cause of Kashmir. Former Prime Minister Benzair Bhutto Shaheed, Co- Chairman of PPP and Former President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have all pledged their unflinching support to the people of the former State of Jammu and Kashmir, she concluded.
