Islamabad, 14th December 2017:Senator Sehar Kamran (TI) while speaking at the International Seminar on “Al-Quds – Its Significance, History, and Role of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Kingdo of Saudi Arabia in the Resolution of Palestinian Conflict”, held by the International Islamic University Islamabad, today, criticized the decision by the United States President Donald Trump to shift the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. She said this move will have far-reaching geopolitical and geostrategic consequences globally. She stated that this decision has been rejected by the Muslim world. She opined that the US President is creating instability and chaos in the world. She called upon the Muslim countries to economically boycott the US and exhibit unity over this unilateral move.
Senator Kamran while addressing the Seminar stated that today the Muslim Ummah needs a leadership like the one they had in the 1970’s. She paid tribute to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s late King Faisal and former Pakistani Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, and said the leadership of Muslim countries needs to take a firm stance in support of Palestine like they did during the 1974 OIC Summit. She expressed deep reverence and commitment for Al- Quds Al-Sharif, and said people of Pakistan stand with their Palestinian brothers and sisters.
Senator Sehar Kamran commended KSA for openly criticizing this decision by the US President and praised the Saudi leadership and King Salman for not only standing with the Palestinian people in their time of need but also for the unparalleled support and generous humanitarian assistance to them. She also met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Nawaf bin Saeed al Malki, and appreciated the Saudi leadership for their service to the Muslim Ummah. She further stated that the relationship shared between the two brotherly countries of Pakistan and KSA is exemplary.
