3rd June, 2018, Islamabad: : President CPGS Senator Sehar Kamran (TI) has termed the launch of Agni-5 ballistic missile as a reckless move which will further destabilise the delicate deterrence stability of South Asia. She said with these launches, India is fueling a new arms in the region through qualitative improvements of its missile capabilities, BMD system and submarine launch weapons system.
Senator Kamran further stated that these continuous endeavors are contrary to India’s rationale of maintaining minimum deterrence policy and will usher a dangerous nuclear arms in the region. She remarked that despite of these belligerent moves, Pakistan, being a responsible nuclear weapon state will continue to pursue a policy of restrain but it should not be taken as a weakness.
On Sunday, India test fired nuclear capable Agni 5 ballistic missile from Integrated Test Range from Dr Abdul Kalam Island, having a more than 5000 km range, state of art Navigation systems, highly accurate Ring Laser Gyro based Inertial Navigation System (RINS) and precise Micro Navigation System (MINS). This will enable India to strike multiple targets in a short notice and run the risk of triggering a nuclear crisis in the region.
