5th February, 2019: Senator Sehar Kamran (TI) Strongly condemned the Indian atrocities and killings of innocent Kashmiris in Indian Held Kashmir, on the occasion of Kashmir solidarity day she urged the international community to fulfil its obligations and help resolve lingering Kashmir issue in accordance with the UNSC resolutions.
Sehar Kamran said the entire Pakistani nation stands united in demonstrating solidarity with our Kashmiri brother and sisters. Today, we reaffirm and reiterate our commitment to the cause of Kashmir and to the people who have continued to suffer at the hands of the Indian forces.
Sehar Kamran said that despite atrocities by 700,000 plus Indian troops in the occupied Kashmir, the spirit in Kashmiri people for freedom struggle could not be suppressed. She said that the indigenous struggle for the right to self-determination by Kashmiris had now been ongoing for more than 70 years. Despite deployment of unprecedented number of troops and using every weapon in their arsenal to destroy the Kashmiri spirit and end their freedom struggle, India had failed in the face of bravery and unbending resolve of courageous Kashmiris.
Senator Sehar said Pakistan would not turn a blind eye to Indian atrocities, and continue its efforts to unmask the cruel face of India before the world community, the people of Pakistan have always extended their diplomatic and moral support to the cause of Kashmir and will continue to do so until Kashmir achieves independence from the clutches of Indian occupation.
Senator Sehar Kamran said the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) has always been a staunch supporter of the rights of people of Kashmir. She said the founder of the PPP, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Shaheed, was the one who internationalized the issue of Kashmir through effective diplomacy. It was he who in 1974 declared February 5 the “Kashmir Day”. She said PPP’s legacy is its commitment to the cause of Kashmir. Former Prime Minister Benzair Bhutto Shaheed, Co- Chairman of PPP and Former President Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have all pledged their unflinching support to the people of the former State of Jammu and Kashmir, she concluded.
