Islamabad, 25th May, 2017: Senator Sehar Kamran (TI) has expressed serious concerns over the latest statement given by the head of US Defence Intelligence Agency Lt Gen Vincent Stewart in the Senate Armed Services Committee stating that ‘India may launch aggressive actions in Pakistan’. She said the statement by the serving US Defence Intelligence Chief has reaffirmed Pakistan’s apprehensions and concerns over the active Indian involvement and belligerence inside the country.
She stated this recent statement by the US Intelligence Chief citing Indian Kautilyan encirclement intentions to ‘isolate Pakistan diplomatically’ should also serve as a wake-up to Islamabad who so far seems to have failed in assessing and countering New Delhi’s tactics in its policy bid to harm Pakistan at any cost. She said the ‘Doval Doctrines’ and others threats to Pakistan’s territorial sovereignty cannot be ignored in the light of evolving geo-political scenario.
Senator Sehar Kamran said these steps by New Delhi will only serve to escalate tensions and increase instability in the already volatile region of South Asia. She called out the Modi regime for actively sabotaging any prospects of peace process between the two countries in order to appease his domestic politics and divert attention from their boiling internal issues. She said the recent attack by the Indian troops on the United Nations vehicle carrying two officers of the UN Military Observer Group near the LoC is an alarming development which cannot be overlooked. India should think twice and responsibly about taking matters to the point of no return, she added.
