She stated that domestically in the last few years, the Kingdom has taken a number of revolutionary steps to introduce reforms to ensure a comprehensive economic development, across the country. ‘Vision 2030’ is a testament of the Saudi leadership’s commitment to build a bright future for the Saudi nationals, as the reform plan has the potential to cement the Kingdom’s position as a major power in the coming years.
Senator Sehar Kamran said that the people of Pakistan have always felt a special reverence for Saudi Arabia as the birthplace of Islam, and the Kingdom considers Pakistan, a leading non-Arab Muslim ally. She said the strength and significance of the relationship, not only for the two nations but for the entire Muslim world transcends the traditional bilateral paradigm. The affiliation between the two dates to the early 1940s, even before Pakistan formally came into existence, she stated.
Pakistan gives special importance to its fraternal relations with Saudi Arabia as the Kingdom is a prominent voice of the Muslim world and has been leading the Ummah towards prosperity, she opined. We pray for the progress and prosperity of both Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, she added.
