At a momentous meeting in Riyadh on Thursday, September 27th 2013, a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between two leading international Think Tanks, the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) and theCentre for Pakistan and Gulf Studies (CPGS).
King Faisal Centre for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) is a prestigious forum for the eloquent statement of Arab-Islamic culture. The Centre takes pride in preserving and promoting Islamic heritage and in encouraging research so these traditions can continue. Its objective is to inspire and influence scholars such that valuable knowledge comes to light and is imparted to a wide audience. KFCRIS and CPGS share the common objectives of promoting peace and a deeper understanding of Islamic culture and values.
The MOU was signed by Dr Yahya Mahmoud ibn Junaid, the Secretary General of KFCRIS and President CPGS Senator Sehar Kamran (TI) at the King Faisal Center for Research & Islamic Studies, Riyadh during a formal signing Ceremony. The signing was attended by notable dignitaries,including H.R.H Prince Khaled bin Saud Al Faisal, Director of External Relations and Partnerships KFCRIS. The event marks the formalization and strengthening of bilateral ties between the two Centres, and is a positive gesture for increasing cooperative measures between the two brotherly states.
Both think tanks are playing pivotal roles in furthering the two countries’ national interests. The signing of this MoU signals the beginning of a new era of cooperation in the fields of research and diplomacy, leading to a systematic progression towards a prosperous future.
