Islamabad, 28th April, 2017: Senator Sehar Kamran (TI) has submitted a calling attention notice in the Senate of Pakistan to draw attention towards the recent visit of the Indian steel magnate Sajjan Jindal and his secret meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. She said considering the affiliation of Mr Jindal with the Indian Premiere and his history of arranging secret meetings between the two Premieres of Pakistan and India (as a similar meeting happened in December 2015 in Kathmandu during SAARC Conference) has raised many questions.
Senator Kamran said the policy of the current regime to carry out bilateral meetings/negotiations without the inclusion of the Foreign Office and the offices concerned is a dangerous development for national security. She further said, in the light of the Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav and TTP’s spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan’s confessions about the involvement of RAW in destabilizing Pakistan, this meeting can have significant repercussions for the state of Pakistan. She called upon the government to disclose the details of the said meeting.
