Islamabad, 23rd March, 2018:On the auspicious occasion of the 78th Pakistan Day, Senator Sehar Kamran (TI) said on this day the Muslims of the Subcontinent came together, and resolved their difference in order to achieve the goal of attaining a separate homeland. She said today we celebrate the heroic struggles of our founding fathers and ancestors, who laid great sacrifices so the Muslims of the Subcontinent could live and breathe in a free state.
Senator Kamran paid a great tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the other founding members. She stated that the founding fathers dreamt of a pluralistic democratic state where rule of law and constitutionalism would reign supreme. All institutions of the country have to work hard in harmony to achieve the goals set by the founding fathers, she remarked.
Senator Sehar Kamran said we must ensure the complete rights of minorities, and follow Quaid’s 11th August speech as the guiding principle, in order to truly emerge as the state where people are treated equally regardless of their caste, creed, gender and religion. She stated that we as a nation must resolve to cultivate a society which nurtures values, tolerance, harmony, and respect towards each other.
Senator Kamran stated that we must also acknowledge the contributions and sacrifices made over the years by our brave people and valiant forces, in defence of our motherland. We must all join hands against the extremist forces of division and distress, and unite for a peaceful, promising, and prosperous Pakistan. May Allah protect bless our beloved country with peace, progress and prosperity, she added.
