Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) today staged a rally in front of National Press Club Islamabad to pay tributes to the martyrs of Karsaz tragedy. Senator Farhatullah, Senator Rubina Khalid, Senator Sehar Kamran, former MPA Nargis Faiz Malik and Nazir Dhoki addressed the participants.
Addressing the participants, Senator Farhatullah Babar said that accountability should be conducted across the board and by selective accountability democracy will be harmed. He said, Pakistan Peoples Party will protect democracy at all costs. Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto returned back to country from exile to fight against dictatorship and terrorism.
Senator Rubina Khalid said that “we have gathered here to remember those who have sacrificed their lives for democracy. She said that the workers of PPP have always been at the forefront in struggle to strengthen democratic system.”
The participants of the rally raised slogans in favour of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari. A large number of PPP workers were among the participants of this rally. At least 150 people were killed and many more were wounded in a deadly bomb attack on a motorcade carrying PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto at Karsaz in Karachi in October 2007
