Senator Sehar Kamran on the 38th anniversary of Quaid-e-Awaam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto paid great tribute to the founder of the Pakistan Peoples Party. She said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a people’s leaders, who for the first time in the history of the country, made people aware of their rights and for his services towards his country-men was given the title of “Quaid-e-Awaam”.
Senator Kamran said Zulfikar Ali Bhutto brought prestige to Pakistan after the debacle of the 1971 war and had the courage to present Pakistan’s case bravely in the United Nations and elsewhere. She said he came to power when Pakistan was in chaos and gave a direction to the country.
Senator Sehar Kamran said Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s contributions and sacrifices will be remembered till the end of times. From taking the initiative to build a nuclear programme to strengthen the defence of the country to giving the country a democratic and unanimously agreed upon constitution, his services and legacy will always be remembered in history with golden words, she said. Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto will be remembered as one of the greatest leaders who served Pakistan and his footprints have been immortalized in people’s hearts, she added.
