Islamabad, 14th August, 2018: On the occasion of the 71st Independence Day, President Centre for Pakistan and Gulf Studies (CPGS), Senator Sehar Kamran (TI) has expressed her heartfelt felicitations to all Pakistanis. She said today we pay homage to all those brave people who have spent and laid their lives for the protection, and well-being of Pakistan. She remarked this day is a reminder that we as citizens shall be cognizant of our obligations & must play our part for the betterment of the country.
Senator Kamran stated that the day is celebrated with traditional fervor and enthusiasm as the nation salute the aspirations, sacrifices and services rendered by our ancestors, so we could live with dignity and freedom in an independent country. She said today Pakistan is passing through a democratic transition as a result of the third consecutive general elections. We as a nation must remember that the creation of Pakistan itself was a result of a long political legal and democratic movement. We must work together as a nation to strengthen democracy and democratic norms to ensure a better future of our country, which was envisioned by our ancestors, she added.
She opined that we must remember our great founder and leader Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s message when he said, “My Message to you is hope, courage and confidence”. She said we are a resilient nation, and have the ability to overcome all challenges and roadblocks if you follow our Quaid’s saying of Unity, Faith and Discipline. She further paid tribute to the brave soldiers and security officials who have rendered numerous sacrifices for the protection of our homeland.
