Islamabad, 8th May, 2018: Senator Sehar Kamran (TI)’s legislation on ‘National Civic Education Commission Bill, 2018’ was passed into law by the National Assembly as ‘The National Civic Education Commission Act, 2018’ on Tuesday, May 8th 2018. She termed the passing of bill into law as ‘a historic day for Pakistan’, and said this Act will ensure a safe future for the upcoming generations of Pakistan.
Highlighting the importance of the Act, Senator Kamran stated the National Civic Education Commission Act, 2018 aims to inculcate knowledge about constitution, fundamental rights and democratic values in the young generation to foster democracy and responsible citizenry in the country. She added that this Commission established under the Bill would take initiatives to incorporate the constitutional history, importance of democracy, federalism and respect for laws in the national curriculum. She emphasized that a conscious and responsible citizenry is key to strengthening democracy in the country.
Senator Sehar Kamran expressed her gratitude to the Pakistan Peoples Party leadership especially Chairman PPP Mr Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, President PPPP Mr Asif Ali Zardari and PPP women wing president Ms Faryal Talpur for their continuous support for her legislative business.
