Islamabad, 7th December, 2017:Senator Sehar Kamran (TI) has submitted a resolution in the Senate of Pakistan condemning the US President Donald Trump’s decision to shift the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The resolution said that the US President’s announcement not only ignores the historic importance of Al Quds Al Sharif, but is a serious threat to the future of the people of Palestine. This shortsighted move will have grave unpredictable consequences for the peace, stability and security of the Middle East, as it will spark unrest in not only the Muslim countries, but the world at large.
The resolution moved by Senator Sehar Kamran stated that Pakistanis are committed to help their Palestinian brothers and sisters, and stand with them in these difficult times. She urged the Muslim Ummah to take a collective stand against this decision by the United States.
The resolution also pressed the government of Pakistan to apprise the international community about the sentiments of Muslim Ummah and raise its voice against this move by the US on all international forums including the United Nations.
