Islamabad, 23rd September 2019: On the auspicious occasion of the 89th Saudi National Day, Member of Senate Policy and Research Forum and President of Centre for Pakistan and Gulf Studies, Senator Sehar Kamran (TI) expressed her heartfelt felicitations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, Members of the Royal Family and the people of Saudi Arabia. She said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia’s relations are ironclad as they are based on love, affection and care for each other, and with time these relations have further strengthened.
Senator Kamran stated that the People of Pakistan have always felt a special reverence for Saudi Arabia owing to the geographical proximity, religious affinity, historic trade ties and economic facilitation have developed trustworthy relations based on mutual respect. She further said that is commendable how under the guidance of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the vision of the Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman for the peace and progress of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is being implemented. Saudi Vision 2030 is truly a landmark document, and will further strengthen KSA’s stature as a major power in the world.
Senator Sehar Kamran said more than 2.7 million Pakistanis are working in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She said the Pakistani diaspora has played a major role in the development of the Kingdom, over the years. She further stated that Pakistan and its citizens desire to see a stable and strong Saudi Arabia as their strength and stability is our strength and stability.
Senator Kamran strongly condemned the recent drone attacks on Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities, and said Pakistan and its citizens stand with the Kingdom against any threat posed to it. She termed the attacks as “cowardly”. We pray for progress and prosperity of both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, she added.
